History of Triveni Turbines Africa (PTY) Ltd

Triveni Turbine Limited, a global leader in industrial steam turbine manufacturing and lifecycle services, has steadily expanded its international presence to better support customers with strong regional engineering and service capabilities. As part of this strategy, TRIVENI TURBINES FZCO, a wholly owned subsidiary of Triveni Turbine Limited, acquired a 70% stake in Turbo Systems & Engineering (PTY) Ltd. in March 2022. This strategic investment strengthened Triveni’s ability to serve customers in the South African Development Community (SADC) region by enhancing local repair, refurbishment, and engineering capabilities.​

Turbo Systems & Engineering (PTY) Ltd., established in 2007 in Pretoria, South Africa by Arto van de Erve, Wayne Brits, and Dolf Jonker, had built a strong reputation in precision engineering and repair of high-speed rotating equipment. Operating from its manufacturing facility in Silvertondale, Pretoria, the company developed deep expertise across sectors such as power generation, petrochemicals, industrial manufacturing, and the sugar industry.The company distinguished itself through its strong focus on precision manufacturing combined with specialized field service capabilities. This approach enabled customers to reduce internal component inventory while improving equipment reliability and operational efficiency. Knowledge transfer and technical collaboration with customers have also remained a core philosophy of the organization, helping build stronger in-house technical capabilities for client teams. ​

On October 31, 2025, Triveni Turbines completed the acquisition of the remaining 30% stake in the company, making it a wholly owned step-down subsidiary of Triveni Turbine Limited. Following this integration, the company operates as Triveni Turbines Africa (PTY) Ltd.Today, Triveni Turbines Africa combines Triveni’s global engineering expertise with strong local capabilities in precision manufacturing, refurbishment, and servicing of critical rotating equipment, supporting customers across Africa and the broader SADC region.
